Boudinot, Elias -- Autograph Legal Document Signed (1740-1821) President of Continental Congress (1782-1783); U.S. House of Representatives (1789-1795); Director of U.S. Mint (1795-1805). Autograph document signed "Elias Boudinot," one page, on laid paper, 4½ x 7½", April 21, 1786. Acknowledging receipt of one hundred fifty two pounds and five shillings from Robert Stockton, attorney for the defense in the case of United States vs. William MacDonald, for legal costs as described. Boldly penned and signed. Fine. Boudinot's mentor and brother-in-law, Richard Stockton, was a Signer of the Declaration of Independence from New Jersey. Estimate $400 - 600
