Sicily, Syracuse. Dionysios I, 405-400 BC (or somewhat later). AR Dekadrachm (41.9 g). Unsigned dies in the style of the master celator Euainetos. Charioteer driving fast quadriga left; above, Nike flies right, crowning charioteer. Reverse: Wreathed head left of Arethusa wearing triple-pendant earring and necklace, surrounded by four swimming dolphins; behind head in right field, pecten shell. Dewing 903-906; Gallatin O.XI-R.E.I. NGC graded Almost Unc: Strike 5/5; Surface 5/5. Fine Style. Our grade is Very Fine to Extremely Fine and somewhat porous.
