1859-D. NGC AU Details, improperly cleaned. Nice pale golden toning. Quite attractive. Only 10,366 struck. The small D mintmark is centered chiefly above the upright of the E in FIVE. Strong detail in the eagle, which is advantageous to bidders since 1859-D is sometimes poorly struck on the reverse, possibly from dilapidated dies. This one is sharp.
