Lot 154

1848 N-9 R1 PCGS graded MS64 Brown, CAC Approved. Lustrous light olive and steel brown with 15-20% of the mint red remaining visible. Must have been close to an "RB" rating by PCGS. No spots or stains, only trivial ticks on the neck and jaw. The best identifying mark is a dull nick in the center of the bust. E-MDS, die state a late. Fine radial die flowlines show in the fields but there are no die cracks on the reverse. Our grade is MS60+, CC#10 in the Grellman census. The attribution and COL Ellsworth Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 3; 2 finer: 1 in 65+, 1 in 66. Estimated Value $600 - UP
