Lot 1495

$1 Gold Indian. 1860-S. PCGS graded AU-50. The San Francisco Mint produced Type III gold dollars from 1857 to 1860 and then halted production until a single and final issue was produced in 1870. With a mintage of only 13,000 coins, only 10 coins are graded AU50 by PCGS and a total of 49 finer. This piece is very well struck and retains luster in the periphery. A small planchet flaw exists just behind the neck in the form of a shallow depresssion (PCGS # 7557) .
Estimated Value $500 - 600.

Realized $805
