1794 S-65 R1. Fine-15. Housed in an Accugrade slab graded AU50. Sharpness near EF40 but cleaned and retoned light brown on the devices gradually fading to dark olive and steel in protected areas. No roughness or verdigris. LIB and the dentils above have been carefully reengraved, possibly to repair a rim dent. The other notable marks are a light rim bruise over the R in LIBERTY and a thin planchet fissure than meanders down the field before the portrait, as struck. The date is bold and the legends are strong. E-MDS, Breen state IV.
