1884. PCGS graded Proof 66. Lovely rainbow toning on both sides. Only 875 Proofs struck. A resplendent example of this scarce date which boasts exceptional toning, the key to its star attraction. Note the multicolor hues which extend in from the rims well beyond the stars and date, into all areas and bathing Liberty and the eagle with its dizzying array of colors. Neither to be overlooked are the fields and devices, which retain the desired mint originality and freedom from handling which is seldom found on Proof Seated Halves of the 1880s. In every way, he present coin has a claim to being one of most attractively toned of this date. An outstanding and memorable example for the specialist, it will delight anyone knowledgeable in numismatics. Pop 8; 2 in 67, 1 in 68 (PCGS # 6445) .
