1904. PCGS graded Proof 65 Cameo. A totally brilliant proof of gem quality with excellent cameo contrast. The strike is bold throughout and the surfaces are glittering in reflectivity and quite attractive in frosty quality. A steller example of this popular Proof gold issue. Most of these late issue (late issue for the Liberty $5 gold pieces) were struck in the "all reflective" style with less of the Cameo frosted proof devices style, hence this is one of the final appearances of the cameo gold proofs. Compare this to those of 1897 half eagles for instance! Back then, Cameo and Deep Cameo coins were almost standard issue. Only 136 struck. Pop 6; 3 finer, 1 in 66, 2 in 67.
