Lot 145

1842-O Liberty Seated Half Dime. PCGS graded MS-64. We note weakness of strike on the upper portions of Liberty, the head, hand and cap, along with corresponding weakness on the reverse, namely the bottom of the wreath and bow, yet the shield and date are quite sharply struck. The surfaces are virtually immaculate and exhibit a bit of light russet tome. Breen states in his encyclopedia "Extremely rare UNC". Pop 5, with 4 in 65 and 1 in 66 (PCGS # 4331) .
Estimated Value $5,000 - 5,500.
