1848 N-1 R1 Repunched 184 PCGS graded XF45, CAC Approved. Glossy steel brown and light chocolate with mint frost in protected areas, especially on the reverse. A pair of light diagonal nicks right of the upper lip are the only notable marks. Rare EDS, die state a, with bold repunching at the 184, and a small lump has formed on the top of the E in CENT. Our grade is EF40, not in the overall condition census for the variety but tied for CC#3 of those known in the early die state (a) in the Grellman census. The attribution and COL Ellsworth Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 2; 8 finer: 2 in 58, 1 in 58+, 1 in 62, 1 in 63, 2 in 64, 1 in 65. Estimated Value $200 - UP
