Warhol, Andy (1928-1987) American artist and filmmaker, an initiator and leading exponent of the Pop art movement of the 1960s. Through calculated self-promotion, he projected the image of the artist as a celebrity, astute businessman, and social climber.

Signature ("Andy Warhol"). Red t-shirt signed in black ink across front, below "Andy Warhol's Interview" logo. Additional doodle marks around edges. Large signature, fine condition.

Our consignor had this t-shirt signed in person by Warhol at the Denver Art Museum. Warhol started Interview magazine in 1979 so, as he put it, "…we could get free tickets for all the premiers…" and the magazine showcased fashion, art, music, celebrity and the nightlife.
Estimated Value $200 - 300.

Realized $334
