India - Southern Deccan, Kakatiyas of Warangal. Gold Gadyana (4.86 g), ca. 1050-1100. Eight punches around a central punch depicting a caparisoned elephant standing right; outer punches: Kannada letter 'Shri' (x2), caparisoned elephant standing right (x4), Kannada legend Dhara and Kannada legend Pathi. Reverse: Incuse of obverse. See Classical Numismatic Gallery 38 (24 April 2021), 252. Extremely Rare. As struck. Estimated Value $5,000 - UP
It would seem that Koma Lenka was a feudatory ruler under the Kakatiyas of Waranga, perhaps ruling during the reign of Prola I (ca. 1052-1076).
