1853 Half Dollar Round. Breen and Gillio-421. Rarity 5. NGC graded MS-63. A brilliant untoned example with rich frosty luster. Early Period One piece, it is believed that most of these were meant for circulation, but soon the minters began striking them for tourists and visitors to commemorate the Gold Rush.
