1847 N-37 R1 PCGS graded AU55. Glossy greenish olive and steel brown. A smooth, very attractive cent that may have been lightly cleaned long ago. The only mark is a faint hairline from the nostril to the throat. E-MDS with fine die flowlines just starting to emerge from the dentils on the obverse. Called EF40 in the Noyes census, his photo #31722. Our grade is EF45. Comes with an outstanding provenance for a relatively modest cent. The attribution and COL Ellsworth Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 1; 10 finer: 2 in 58, 3 in 62, 5 in 63. Estimated Value $200 - UP
