Persian, Amlash. Large Zoomorphic Rhyton, ca. 1000 - 800 BC. A hollow vessel in the form of a humped bull, with a cylindrical body and a prominent neck hump, the muzzle extending into a long spout, with long horns and small ears below, vertical ridges for the dewlap and tail, on four tapering legs. A rare and fine piece for this size. Intact with some minor restorations. Length: 13 ¼"; Height: 14".
