Photographers, Late 1800s. Women and Children of the Gilded Age, Collection of 65 Photos. Collection of cabinet photos all from the late 1800s, the bulk from New York City, Boston and Pennsylvania, of women and children from the upper middle class to those of considerable wealth. As a study of styles, the fashion, the decor, these photos prove a fantastic look back in time as curated by Edith Wharton. Many of the subjects identified by name, no doubt with family history that traces back to the upper strata of society of the time in the various cities photos were taken. The bulk of the cards measure 6.5" x 4" and given their 100 plus years in age, are in excellent condition.
