Lot 130

1822 N-4 R2 NGC graded MS61 Brown. Frosty steel brown and chocolate with lighter golden steel brown in protected areas, particularly on the obverse. The fields are satiny and this cent has nice eye appeal. The only marks are a puff of darker toning between the date and star 13 and several nicks in the field below stars 7 & 8. The reverse is flawless. MDS. The inner circle from star 1 to star 8 is clear and there is no die crack from the bust tip. The portrait is very sharply struck. Our grade is AU55+. The attribution and Mervis Collection provenance are noted on the NGC label. Pop 3; 6 finer at NGC for the variety, 4 in 62, 2 in 65. Estimated Value $1,000 - UP
