1847 N-26 R3+ PCGS graded AU58. Glossy medium brown and chocolate with hints of underlying very faded mint color in a couple protected areas. Nicely struck with radial lines in all the stars. The only notable mark is a tiny spot of darker toning at the middle of the front edge of the nose. MDS, die state c. The reverse is cracked but there are no rim cuds, and the obverse fields are covered with tiny lumps caused by die rust (as always on this variety). Our grade is MS60. The attribution and COL Ellsworth Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 1; 5 finer: 1 in 62, 3 in 64, 1 in 66. Estimated Value $400 - UP
