Lot 1226

1909-D. NGC graded MS-67. The lowest production of all Denver Mint Barber dimes was the 954,000 piece delivery of the 1909-D. Both sides are toned in coruscant reddish-golden hues, and the frosted luster is complemented with a bold strike throughout. A couple of tiny abrasions on the obverse are hidden by the toning. This is tied as the finest 1909-D dime certified by both of the major grading services. An amazing coin that is nearly impossible to replace. Pop 2; none finer at NGC. Tied for the finest graded by both services .
Estimated Value $6,500 - 7,000.
