Rare WWII Era Camp Haan/Camp Irwin Scrapbook of Signed Photos by Entertainers Performing for Troops. Jack Benny, Lucille Ball, Big Bands, More. An extraordinary personal archive/scrapbook of the scores of entertainers who performed for troops during WWII at Camp Haan and Camp Irwin near outside Los Angeles with most of the 8 x 10" photos signed. Phenomenal photos of singers, big band leaders, troops dancing with starlets and two autographs and images of boxer Joe Louis in the rings for exhibition fights. 24 oversized pages having signed photos to "Leonard" who clearly was in charge of bringing hope, laughter and song to troop training at bases during WWII. Included are autographs by Lucille Ball, Jack Benny, Red Skelton, Joe. E. Brown, Lionel Barrymore, William Demarest, Anne Rutherford, Victor Borge, Big Band Leader Kay Keyser, Chester Morris, Priscilla Lane, Betty Bruce, Dennis Day, Johnny Mercer and more. Also there are some amazing shots of Joe Louis boxing (with two autographs) in an outdoor ring surrounded by hundreds of troops watching and a remarkable photo of swing band performing to an all black crowd of troops. There are also war bond posters and other ephemera. 25 x 20" and in very fine condition. A small bit of damage on scrapbook cover but the pages and photos very well kept. Estimated Value $500 - UP
