Original Vintage World War I French Bond Poster by Poulbot, 1916. Lithograph, color, 47.6 x 31.5". Titled "14 Juillet 1916 / Journeé de Paris / Au Profits des Oeuvres de Guerre de l'Hôtel de Ville," Translation: Paris Day. July 14, 1916. To benefit the Hôtel de Ville's [City Hall's] war charities. Signed by Poulbot at lower right and dated 1916. Printed by H. Chachoin, Paris [1916]. Small children dressed in soldiers' uniforms stand at attention in honor of the wounded soldiers walking by them. Not examined out of frame. Beautifully matted and framed to an overall size of 49 x 34". Francisque Poulbot (1879-1946) was a French artist who drew patriotic posters and postcards during World War I. His portraits of children affected by the war are especially poignant. His affinity for children led him to open a dispensary to help the needy children of Montmartre in 1923. Poster was professionally framed in museum grade plexi, but we can remove and ship poster rolled if so desired. Estimated Value $500 - UP
