Lot 117

1839 N-11 R1 Booby Head PCGS graded MS65 Brown, CAC Approved. Very attractive lustrous medium steel brown and light olive with 10% of the obverse and a third of the reverse showing mint red. Flawless except for a small splash of fine carbon in the dentils at star 13, a dull contact mark near the dentils over star 4, and two tiny ticks over CE in CENT. A flashy, very attractive cent in spite of the minor flaws. LDS. The die lines and tiny dots seen in the early state are gone and the dentils around the obverse are nearly gone. Our grade is MS62+. A great "Booby Head" cent, close to MS63. The attribution and Koshkarian provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 2; 1 finer in 67 for the variety. Estimate Value $3,500 - UP
