Lot 1152

1797 NC-5 R6. VG-10 Plus. Sharpness F12 and very attractive for the grade, but there is a small patch of shallow contact marks or planchet flakes on the chin. Otherwise the surfaces and eye appeal of this example are very nice, well above average. The only other marks, and they are not at all distracting, are a barely visible rim nick under the first 7 in the date and a tiny one over the right side of the T in LIBERTY. Choice glossy light chocolate brown with a hint of reddish chocolate toning in the hair right of the hair ribbon. E-MDS, Breen state II. The die crack at RT is clear. Noyes photo #32087, tied for CC#5.
Estimated Value $2,000 - 3,000.
Ex Lakeland, Florida, coin show where found unattributed 6/73 by Thomas Wolf.

Realized $4,600
