Lot 115

1839 N-4 R1 Silly Head PCGS graded MS66 Brown. Choice lustrous medium steel brown and light chocolate. Satiny mint frost covers this cent, even the highest points of the devices, and the eye appeal is outstanding. Essentially a flawless cent except for a tiny rim bruise over star 5 and another even smaller one under star 12. LDS. The tiny dashes at the dentil tips under the 9 are gone and the dentils around both sides are getting weak. A beautiful example of the "Silly Head" type. Our grade is MS63. The attribution and Koshkarian provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 1; tied for the finest example graded at either service. Estimate Value $5,000 - UP
Ex Jack Beymer 9/2004.
