Silver Halfcrown, 1844, no serifs on 4s, young filleted head left, date below, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, VICTORIA DEI GRATIA, Rev. crowned quartered shield of arms, within laurel wreath, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, BRITANNIARUM REGINA FID: DEF:, edge inscribed with incuse letters and star stops, weight 14.16g (Bull 2720; ESC 677; Davies 567; S.3888; KM.740). Attractively toned, one hairline raised die flaw on neck, otherwise good Extremely Fine. Estimate Value $1,500 - UP

The Latin legends translates on obverse as "Victoria by the Grace of God," and on the reverse "Queen of the Briton's, Defender of the Faith."
