Lot 110

1803 C-1 R1 PCGS graded AU55. PCGS graded AU-55. Frosty steel brown and chocolate with lustrous golden steel brown toning covering the protected areas. Great eye appeal with just a touch of rub on the highest points of the devices. The only marks are a spot of slightly darker chocolate brown toning over AL in HALF, a faint vertical scratch in this spot, and a collection of microscopic pinpricks over the N in CENT. None of these marks is distracting. LDS, Manley state 3.0. All the die cracks described by Manley are clearly visible on the reverse and there is a small but clearly defined rim cud over the M in AMERICA that is not mentioned in the Manley reference. Our grade is AU50.
Estimated Value $2,000-UP.

Realized $1,704
