Appointing eleven men "."to be Judges in the Court of Common Pleas." Three lines affected by ink erosion, else fine. Tompkins was the sixth Vice President, serving under James Monroe from 1817-1825. Richard M. Johnson. Free Frank "Free/Rh:M:Johnson" as Vice President, on a holograph cover addressed to Hon Wm. Gaston in Raleigh, North Carolina. Red circular cancellation. With engraving. Johnson was the ninth VP, serving under Martin Van Buren from 1833-37. Fine condition. Estimate $400 - 500
