To Rose Bigman at the NEW YORK MIRROR, stating that he was not disturbed by remarks made by former President Truman. "But he had a tough job, especially for an inexperienced man, the toughest any President had up to that time. DDE has a still toughter one….My only regret is that anything should be done to… lessen the respect of the greatest office of the world, the Presidency of The United States."
