Lot 109

1847 N-12 R3+ Repunched 8 PCGS graded AU58, CAC Approved. Frosty medium chocolate delicately woodgrained with lighter brown on the obverse. Sharply struck and very attractive, just lightly worn on the devices. The only marks are a few trivial ticks; a light diagonal nick under star 10 and a very light rim bruise at the C in AMERICA may help identify this cent. EDS, die state a. The repunching inside the top of the 8 is sharp, there are no rim cuds on the obverse, and the reverse is uncracked. All the fine die lines are clear. Our grade is EF45+, close to AU50. Comes with a nice provenance. The attribution and COL Ellsworth Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 3; 5 finer: 1 in 62, 2 in 63, 2 in 64. Estimated Value $300 - UP
