Economists: Group of 24, Including Malthus, Keynes, Milton, MacKay, Senior, Samuelson, Fisher, Levy, Okun, and Numerous Others. Group of 25 items signed by 24 economists. Eight are signatures only: T.R. Malthus, N.W. Senior, Henry George, Roger W. Babson, and Irving Fisher; Robert C. Merton, William F. Sharpe, and Harry Markowitz signed their business cards. Four added a sentiment and/or date: J.M. Keynes, Paul A. Samuelson, Arthur M. Okun, and Alfred E. Kahn. Jacques Leon Rueff signed a small photo. Six are handwritten notes to Michael Hecht: Burton G. Malkiel, Milton Friedman (AQS), Robert Heilbroner, Peter Drucker, Arthur Laffer, and Eugene Fama (signed with initials). Mark Fadiman sent a TQS. Jack Treynor sent a TLS and a signed business card. There is also a TLS from Henry Hazlitt and an 1857 ALS by Charles Mackay regarding possibly delivering lectures in Albany. An important 1896 two-page ALS from Raphaël-Georges Lévy to Arthur Twining Hadley discusses, among other things, the "problem of population, commonly called the Malthus problem…."
