Jessie Owens: Beautifully Signed First Day Issue Cover for Olympic Games 1972 JSA Authentication. Jessie Owens (1913-1980), winner of four Gold Medals in Berlin in 1936 has boldly signed a First Day Cover for the Olympic Stamps issued in August, 1972.
A premium sports autograph for any level of collector. Owens broke three records and tied with the fourth in Track & Field events (and in about one hour's time!) But that a black man triumphed in Berlin, Owens is credited for single-handedly crushing Hitler's myth of Aryan supremacy and secured his place in history. MINT 3.5 x 6.5". Estimated Value $500 - 800
