Lot 103

1807 C-1 R1 Repunched 7 PCGS graded XF45. Glossy medium chocolate brown. Frosty flowline luster shows in protected areas on the reverse and this piece offers excellent eye appeal. The only marks are two faint diagonal hairline scratches in the field behind the head. Nicely struck EDS, Manley state 1.0. The repunching on the 7 is clear, the tiny die crack from the right top of the 7 is very light, die clashmarks show at the chin and throat, and there are dentils present around the entire obverse and most of the reverse (although some dentils are weak and tight to the rim). Our grade is EF45, same as the PCGS grade. The attribution and Green Tree Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 1; 14 finer for the variety. Estimate Value $2,000 - UP
Ex Chris McCawley 2/29/2005-The Green Tree Collection.
