Goldberg Coins and Collectibles

Sale 137

Lot 1004

1795. 2 leaves beneath each wing. B-4, BB-14. PCGS graded AU-50. Well struck and lightly toned. Natural light to medium gray toning throughout with a splash of golden russet in the lower right field. This is the only obverse die of the 1795 Flowing Hair series where the final star right of the date is entirely below the bust, making it instantly identifiable as a somewhat scarcer variety. Liberty's hair comes with bolder definition than usually seen, making high grade examples like this quite desirable. The reverse shows full wing feather definition too. An impressive early Flowing Hair silver dollar that will please any collector for its quality and charm.Pop 20. (PCGS # 6853) Estimated Value $12,500 - UP
