Harms #4.e.NL/EN/FRA/SP/PGU/CV/BR, rare crew cover (from Freddy Schmid, Mechanic on board D.O.X.) from first Europe to America flight. Franked by 10 different countries in which DO-X landed during trip. These include Netherlands (Amsterdam, Nov 8), Great Britain (Southampton, Nov 12), France (Bordeaux, Nov 17), Spain (Santander, Nov 22, Coruna, Nov 24 & Puerto de Palma Canary Islands), Portugal (Lisbon, Jan 30, 1931), Spanish Sahara (Villa Cisneros in Rio de Oro, April 30, 1931), Portuguese Guinea (Bolama, May 5, 1931), Cape Verde (Porto Praja, May 30, 1931) and Brazil (Rio Grande de Norte, June 5, 1931 & Rio, June 22, 1931) as well as Germany with Bordpost cancel. Cover aged and worn from travels as one would expect, one Portuguese Guinea stamp damaged. Fine and an important DO-X and airmail cover rarity.
