Four small, early lithographic cartes de visite, 2½ x 4", mounted on cardboard, New York, of Union Army military leaders, including General Lew Wallace, the author of "Ben Hur," Col. E.E.Ellsworth (Martyr, killed at Marshall House Tavern), General W.S. Rosecrans (commanded the Armies of the Mississippi and the Cumberland), and Admiral David G. Farragut, the Southerner who moved to New York in support of the Southern cause to become one of the most highly esteemed Union naval commanders.
The Wallace card is slightly soiled, the rest Fine.
