Roman Masterpiece: Bronze Oil Lamp, ca. 1st Century BC - 1st Century AD in Choice Condition. Museum quality antiquity depicting the head of a Roman Goddess with hair in tight curls pulled into a headdress on the graceful handle having exceptionally realistic details. A filling hole in the shape of a grape cluster is incised through the center with a round orifice for illumination at lamp's contoured tip. A circular base over which the weight of the lamp is concentrated is situated underneath giving the lamp remarkable stability. This fabulous ancient oil lamp is embellished with a stunning natural fine dark green and reddish-brown patina. A signature piece for any private or public collection.
