Collection of Richard "Dick" Underwood: Personal Collection of Five Binders Totaling 150 Original Photos from Apollo 10, 12, 14, 15 & 16. Richard "Dick" Underwood was chief engineer on the production of the first topographic maps of the moon. He was the first person to view every photograph from the Gemini, Apollo, Skylab, Apollo-Soyuz and the first 23 space shuttle missions. He also provided technical training to every astronaut who went into space in the twentieth century. Further, he toured the world giving over 1500 lectures on NASA and the space program earning legions of fans. Offered are five binders from his collection from Apollo 10, 12, 14, and 15. All but Apollo 15 are in their original binders which definitely show evidence of humidity and silverfish that go hand in hand with living in and around Houston, Texas. But the photos are excellent having been individually sleeved and know there are numerous images that we are not sure have been seen, at the very least widely circulated. Mix of black and white and color, the lunar photographs especially great still conveying awe at such a miraculous achievement in exploration. Apollo X = 60 photos, Apollo XII = 26 photos, Apollo XIV = 28 photos, Apollo XV = 18 photos and Apollo XVI = 20 photos. A great archive of photos for every level of collector or dealer. We invite everyone to preview. Estimated Value $750 - UP
