Lot 92

1805 C-4 R2- Large 5 with Stems PCGS graded AU58. Frosty medium brown and light chocolate with puffs of reddish brown toning on both sides, mostly on the reverse. Traces of frosty golden tan faded down from mint red are visible in protected areas on the reverse. Looks mint state but there is a faint trace of rub on the highest points of the devices plus a few light contact marks scattered over the obverse. The notable marks are a collection of very light scratches in the field under LIB, some more in the field before the neck, and a single light scratch on the neck. Sharply struck EDS, Manley state 1.0, with fine die cracks on the obverse but no crack from the 5 to the bust tip. There is a minor mint-made planchet clip that affects the dentils left of the lower curls and the opposing dentils at ED in UNITED. Our grade is AU50. The attribution and Green Tree Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 2; 4 finer, 2 in 62, 2 in 63 for the variety. Estimate Value $1,000 - UP
