An Austrian and Two Germans: Ernst Pauer, Joseph Joachim, and Eugen d'Albert. Ernst Pauer (1826-1905) Autograph letter signed "E Pauer," 2¼ pages, in German, 8½ x 5½", Jan. 1, 1865. Translation, in part: "Dearest, most admired woman, Your confession, that the Beethoven is your favorite piece, has inspired me to devote myself even deeper to mastering it…" With Joseph Joachim (1831-1907) German violinist. Autograph letter signed "J. Joachim," on one side of a postcard, in German, Cologne, Oct. 23, 1882. Translation, in part: "Just returned from America and would like to ask if you would kindly forward your address to me, so I can request the postal code and send an answer to your letter. As soon as I hear from you, I'll send the note…" With Eugen d'Albert (1864-1932) British-born German pianist and composer. Autograph letter signed, one page, in German, 8¾ x 5 5/8", Jan. 27, 1891. Translation: "Esteemed Mrs. Petri, As if I could ever possibly hate you. To the contrary, impossible. Enclosed pleased find the image. I'm delighted about your letter, and hope to see you this summer. A thousand greetings to you and your dear spouse. Estimate Value $400 - UP
