Apollo 11 Unusual, Signed Splashdown Diagrams: Neil Armstrong Has Signed Two (2) Splashdown Diagrams, Michael Collins Signed Primary Landing Area. Apollo 11, the flight that first landed humans on the moon. On July 24th, 1969 after the crew's successful mission, The Command Module Columbia, landed in the Pacific Ocean. Offered are three printed diagrams with notations that explain the logistics each signed. 1. Neil Armstrong has signed a day of splashdown diagram that ran in a Chicago newspaper that shows the stages of reentry and splashdown anticipating 950 nautical miles from Hawaii. It actually landed 800 miles Southwest of Hawaii and only 12 miles from the recovery ship. Neil Armstrong has signed above the area representing Hawaii. Certified authentic by Zarelli Space Authentication. Newspaper illustration is 10 x 8" with Armstrong signing in his usual blue Sharpie and the two printed/illustrated Landing Area and Splashdown cards are 3 x 5 with Armstrong inscribing "To Sandra Neil Armstrong" in black fine point fiber pen and Michael Collins signing on his card in the same pen.
