Egyptian Blue Glaze Faience of Bes Wearing Feathered Headdress ca. 26th Dynasty. Bes, a minor Egyptian god is represented as a dwarf with large head, goggle eyes, protruding tongue, bowlegs, bushy tail, and usually a crown of feathers protected man against snakes and other evils, even women during child birth. Superb example of Bess in this amulet, free of repair. 41mm. Purchased from Freda Pchacos, Zurich, Switzerland in 1970s
