Lot 83

1817 N-14 R1 NGC graded MS64 Brown. Frosty chocolate brown and steel with traces of mellowed mint red showing on both sides. No notable spots or stains, only a few trivial ticks. A tiny nick over the nostril may help identify this cent. M-LDS, the usual Randall Hoard die state for this variety. The repunching on the left foot of the N in ONE is bold. The portrait is well struck but the stars are relatively flat, as always. Our grade is MS60. The attribution is noted on the NGC label. Pop 6; 6 graded finer in MS-64 RB at NGC for the variety. Estimated Value $700 - UP
Ex Scottsman Auctions 10/2007:243-Chuck Hall Collection.
