Lot 82

1846 N-10 R5- Small Date PCGS UNC Detail Cleaned. A cent with mint state sharpness that was cleaned and poorly retoned golden tan and steel brown. The only mark is a tiny planchet flake on the cheek and an even smaller one high on the neck, both as struck. Very sharply struck EDS, die state a. All the fine die lines are clear and every device is fully impressed. This cent deserves a better retoning. Our grade is net AU50+, tied for CC#8 in the Grellman census. And it comes with an important provenance. The attribution and COL Ellsworth Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. Estimated Value $600 - UP
