"1778" Machin's Mills Halfpenny. . Vlack 11-78A Rarity-3 VF30. Ten points sharper with a patch of very fine corrosion in the field behind the head of the seated figure on the reverse, and this patch contains traces of very shallow verdigris. Otherwise the planchet is mostly smooth, only showing some of the usual tiny chips found on these relatively crude coppers. A thin scrape on the base of the second G in GEORGIVS is the only contact mark. The date is bold. Weight 97.8 grains.
