Lot 690
Space & More Space, "Balance of Collection". We're not exactly sure what to say about this five carton lot. It contains literally everything that we couldn't find a home for. If it wasn't an individual lot - if it didn't fit into a group lot - if it wasn't part of another carton lot, it got placed in this no-man's-land lot. That is not to say that this is a bad lot, there are books, handbooks, correspondence, letters and analyses, checklists, maps, photos, documents galore, newspaper clippings and we forget what else. We know this is a real "pig-in-a-poke", but we know that there are sure to be nuggets buried here for the astute collector or dealer. We would like to say that viewing is recommended (which it really is), but we know many of you bid via the internet so the advantage will definitely go to the local guys who have a chance to stop by to view. Even if you call and someone here tries to describe what is in this lot for you they will never be able to do this lot justice. As it is, we won't have the time for that (or a detailed description via email or fax). You will just have to use your crystal ball and take your best shot. It is bound to be worth it, either in outright value or in just the pleasure you will get from sorting through five cartons of papers and documents and ephemera from the Estate of one of America's most important astronauts. What space junkie could ask for more?
