Lot 687

1798 S-184 R1. PCGS graded AU-55. Style II Hair with Small 8. Frosty dark steel with lustrous lighter steel brown toning faded down from mint color in the protected areas. The surfaces are a bit dull from a thin veneer of natural oxidation, but a proper brushing should bring out the underlying mint luster and improve the eye appeal. The only mark of any significance is a small planchet fissure at the rim over the E in LIBERTY, as struck. MDS, Breen state III. Our grade is AU50.
Estimated Value $6,000 - 8,000.
