Sasanian Kingdom. Shapur II, 309-379 AD. Gold One Sixth Dinar (1.33 g). Ctesiphon Mint. Very Rare. Crowned and cuirassed bust right. Reverse: Fire altar with attendants and ribbon, bust right in flames; pellets on altar column. Cf. Göbl, Kushan 1229 (Obol); Göbl Ia/6a; cf. Alram 775 (Obol). Light roughness, especially on reverse (die rust?). Traces of prior mounting. Apparently unpublished. Choice Very Fine.
