Lot 675

Judea. Bar Kokhba War, 132-135. AR Tetradrachm / Sela (13.16 g), Hybrid of Year 1 and Year 2, struck 133/134 AD. . Hen-686. Very rare; only 8 examples listed by Mildenberg. Facade of Temple, Ark within; Hebrew inscription around ("Jerusalem"). Reverse: Lulav with etrog to left; Hebrew inscription around ("Year 2 of the freedom of Israel"). Hendin 686; Mild. 7 (O1/R6), this an early emission, since the die break referenced as starting with example 3 not apparent here. A few areas of weakness, but overall the strike bold. Some spots of porosity here and there, but metal generally quite good, with much residual luster. Extremely Fine.
Estimated Value $7,000 - 8,000.

Realized $8,625
