Rare Triceratops Juvenile Metatarsal Bone. Triceratops is one of the best known dinosaurs with its distinctive horns and its living at the same time as T-Rex. It is also one of the very last dinosaurs that became extinct with the meteorite impact 66 million years ago. Triceratops fossils are usually parts of the head because of their massive weight of solid bone. Other bones of its body are rarely encountered and a complete skeleton has never been found. This 7 inch long dark brown juvenile metatarsal bone of one its feet is virtually complete with no restoration. It was found on a private ranch in the Hell Creek Formation in Colorado.
