1889-CC Morgan Dollar. NGC graded MS-64 Premium Quality. A satiny, white example of this extremely difficult date. Liberty's cheek is very clean, and we note a trace of haze on the reverse which can be seen under a strong light. As with most other rarities, we know a whole lot more about whats out there today than a couple of decades ago because of the relentless Population Reports of the two major grading services. These tell no lies, and no amount of hype, dancing up and down or pleading can alter the cold hard facts. This one has been graded MS-64 by NGC, along with a total of 23 in this grade category. Above that we note 3 specimens graded higher, all MS-65 for the non prooflike category. In the Prooflike and Deep Mirror Prooflike category NGC has graded 16 as MS-64 combined, and just a single coin above as MS-65 prooflike. That's it. No more. Finis. If you want one of the finest 1889-CC Morgans, then we strongly suggest you purchase this coin. There simply aren't many this nice, and finding a better one is nearly impossible.
